This bird,
child of the salt,
feeds his youngs
with his blood,
with the white sun
and the salt water….
Indifferent,
invented by colors,
he flies away
from lake to lake
as a promise
of Africa,
a kiss of the nature
to those
who don’t love her.

When we love,
we protect.

I usually don't even read a poem in free verse to the end, let alone leave a comment. But this was especially evocative and well done. Have a marvelous day! Mark

Beautiful, Yann.  This is just up my street - or rather, I should say, just up my lake-side path!

"a kiss of the nature

who don’t love her"

...it's hard to believe you could get stronger than this line...then I read your closing...powerful statement

Yann,

This is well done.  It's about real flamingos, and that's good.

At first I thought it was about those plastic replicas some people put on their lawn.

very good Yann

I assume "her"
refers to Africa.

Hi Owl, you have such a chance to live in Africa, may people preserve its beauty and richness and the unic animals that other continents have forgotten. Thank you for the kind and lovely comment.

Hi Bobby, I'm always fascinated by nature, men don't have imagination for such beauty, they copy sometimes in a very creative way, but they copy (too french word ?)
I couldn't stand plastic flamingos in wild, it would be absurd.
have a nice day

Oh my...I have been missing out, yann.

tsk...I'll try not to pass you by again.

This is beautiful, and I'm impressed with the impact you have with a few words.

Much enjoyed.

Yes, Yann.  I am humbled by my privilege of living on my beloved continent of Africa, and in my beloved counrtry of South Africa.  For many, many years I have tried to pass on the word of preserving our beautiful creatures and habitats.  I hope that I have made a difference.
