when love falls
it is soft
through cracks and crevices
through sheets and pillows
between hands
it slips

I am searching
through dark rooms
for the eyes that once held me
I am losing

in the silence, my heart
it will beat
without body to warm me
without words to calm me

I know
past layers of dust
slowly collecting
on the words left unspoken
love falls
