diff'rent times

in diff'rent times the faces change
like leaves in autumn's shedding
the diff'rence makes not differences
of things not quite yet sett'ling

and spirits are as spirits were
when nought was made for letting
the hearts of those who lived through all
the pains of life abetting

a circle rings like planetary bidding
to time's unceasing, captured moments
and that which was has come again
to freeze the long-gone, long-filled instants

with mem'ries ripe for taking
good from those forgotten ones
so that they may be the making
of new ones simply, swiftly spun

of diff'rences of another's
remembered less than others
