Once more today, you came to grace my dream With cherished memories of tender love, Of walks in parks and picnics by the stream, Your hands and lips soft warmth, and bliss thereof. I can still savour in my mouth your tongue The chocolate and wine you fed me thus, And how you warmed my heart, I’d feel so young; Of dreams and love, all night we could discuss. Despite the harm you’ve done to me, you still Invade my heart as soon as it drops guard; Regret in my grieved soul you come instill, And you remain the muse when I am bard. Come to my dreams, tough banished from my bed I’ll yet remember you when I am dead. **This is work in progress, I think it's got a few good lines, and a few that could be improved. Feedback welcome. Thanks for reading, and have a wonderful day. Mark |
