the more it becomes, the less it is while less is lost in others' more no vict'ry won in loss's glory no shining for the dark of dawn satisfaction guaranteed like shifting sand that swallows whole the soul of man in gulps of deep distress in gulfs of sorrow's cold duress the more I become, the less I am while loss is less in others' stares while cold is settled like morning's dew ere heat of day its message spreads the more the less is so becoming the less is lost in unfulfilling |

Are you more or less saying that less is more? lol Steave, I'm trying to get my mind wrapped around this, but I think I'm too tired to think straight this evening! What I do know is that I want more of your writing ~ not less of it! lol Warm hug 'n a smiley face, Linda |

Ok, Thats not fair, I was going to say what she said, or did she say what I thought? The more I think about it, the less I think I know what I am talking about, I think!!!!mmmmn |

quote: The evolution of spirit discards what might have seemed important and grows out of "measurements". I love your deeply poetic philosophical ponderings, dear Steaven. Love, Margherita "Love is the One who masters all things; |

Linda, you are always so kind...hope you've had a chance to get your mind wrapped around this one...regardless, thank you for your generous comments TRACE, hey, though life isn't even fair, I love your play on the words of this...thanks...I appreciate it Margherita, thank you for your insightful comments, and pointing out what I believe is the heart of this write amusemi, I agree...there is never a bad time for coffee...but this one may have needed a java-rich moment...thanks for reading and commenting Lindsay, sorry, my friend, but here is a brief help file...I find that the more I do (for lack of a better word), the less my more becomes by virtue of its lessened quality. (Ergo, the age-old debate of quality vs. quantity) So much so, that the issue infects me as to define me and my more is less, while my less is more. And following on, there is simply no fulfillment in doing more, for it becomes less in the observations and opinions of others...this may not help, but it might...if it doesn't, a cup of coffee will surely do the job |

Steaven, I so often read your poetry again and again before I respond. You use words so well and I love how you bring them all together. Alison |

there is a part of truth I think, "the more I become, the less I am" as for every word we have to consider the yes and the no of it, but I really understand what you mean, we are transforming ourselves permanently and it brings a lot... thank you for sharing a beautiful poem. yann |

More can be less, And less can be more, Until it is something new, That we really want. Then we only need, Less rigid philosophy, And we can be happy. |

Lindsay, no prob--glad to be of some help Alison, you pay a high compliment...I am both flattered and humbled...thank you kindly yann, I appreciate your generous remarks...they are both insightful and thoughtful inked, you have it right on every count...love your summation...truly, that IS where it is at V Bard, ahh, but if it becomes new, is it truly new? or is it simply the old (which we've grown tired of) and hence that which cannot make us happy simply by changing our worn out philosophy? just wondering...anyway, thank you for reading and commenting |
