A State of Disarray

0 posted 2008-12-08 09:02 AM

The flutter of my feet
They dangle and swirl
In purist water, gently.
The fountain cascades its tendrils
Of perilous romance.
It begs a moment
Of La Dolce Vita...but
I sit and watch
The mirage of strands,
Coins held heavy in my hand.
Away I toss them
Wishes not expelled
For my granting might
Be the death of someone elses.
So, let them lie in wait
For that unsuspecting passer-by
Who needs the comfort more
Than a foolish old woman.

K.f. ~ you amuse me with your clever writes!
May those coins bring La Dolce Vita to you AND to all the passersby who may be in need of the sweet life!

Wishes -are admitting life isn't good enough
Dreams -are admitting the things you want are not yet real
Both words contain the strife or proof that we want the world to be a better place.

Hi amusemi, there is to my eyes a lot of irony in the ending words....enjoyed your rythmic and wonderful poem.

Dear Kat, the coin has granted you the creativity for this very lovely write, I would say. La Dolce Vita is within our reach always, even if only for moments, like the one you lived at this fountain (Trevi?). You have a generous heart and the "foolishness" is another PLUS of your personality. I can relate!

Love,
Margherita

ps I love the Christmas smilies!
