Bones Never Returned |

Many nights, about three in the morning, Bones and his friends would gather in the playground across the street. They’d relax after a night of working clients. While the girls sit on benches, talking quietly, the boys shoot hoops. One night lanky hoop star Bones never came back. Everyone knew something horrible had happened to Bones. Bobby |

Bobby, you have an engaging way of pulling your readers into the world of each poem. You create the scenes vividly and powerful emotions are always invoked. Loving hug, Linda |

Thanks dear Linda, Bones was a real person. We warned him against what he was doing, but it did no good. He needed that money. That was many years ago. Bobby |

I am glad that he had his day of being "Hoop Star" though. How that must have made him feel when he was playing with his friends and nailing those baskets. Maybe it allowed him some time to just 'enjoy' the moment. A |

Thanks WindWalker, I'm pleased the poem worked for you. I was just thinking of Bones, with a gang of kids shooting hoops out in the playground about five this morning. Bobby |

Thanks dear Ida, Bones friends are still out there shooting hoops. Sadly, Bones was brutally murdered, and never did return one night. Love Bobby |

Oh, I understand that Bones was murdered, Bobby but I like to think that he is still doing what he likes to do. Say, around three in the morning. Ida |
