I wrote this to my amazing friend who I knew was not having a very good night, and I thought it would be something thoughtful for her to wake up to.

You once wrote me a poem
So I thought I would do the same for you
I wish that I could make you smile
Whenever you feel blue

I know I’m not the best with words
And don’t always know what to say
But you manage to put up with me
And our friendship grows each day

You only met me a year ago
And there is a lot we don’t know
But I enjoy the time we spend together
And hope there’s a lot left to go

I know you said that you'll end up alone
But in my mind I've never doubted
That when you're done with the world
You'll have everything you've always wanted

You’re different from most people
But I mean that in a good way!
And although some friendships don't always last
I’m here to stay

I know that I’m a dork
And I’m sorry that I write and share
But I wanted to let the people in my life
Hear they’re important and I care

You're probably laughing at me now
When it comes to poems I wasn't taught
And even though it may have sucked
Please read my final thought

I know that you go through a lot
And are unappreciated too
But I just wanted to let you know
You’re a great person and I love you

Again, welcome to PiP (my first welcome is in the poem of mine you responded to).

This is a very loving poem and I bet your friend didn't laugh. I know I wouldn't if someone wrote that to me. What a tribute to your friendship!
