ETERNITY

I. Winter
Ice adhering to hair
Shivering alone
Desiring the touch of another
A thought--no--a memory
Of how I came into this world
Cold and Naked
Bare like the trees
Emerging from the darkness
To darkness
Silence shattered by the powerful wind
Reminding us of who is really in control
There is a beauty in this tragedy
Despair somehow brings hope
The earlier the sunset
Later it seems for sun rise
Coldness understood not through the senses
But a state of being
Death, not experienced
But a way of life.

II. Spring
The warm air sends
Signals of ecstasy
Running through my body
More powerful than any drug
The winter has been long
Your cold naked body shivers
The sun sends passion into our loins
Bursting over the horizon
Its rays overflowing
Our beds unite
Trees bloom and darkness fades
Ice unthawed instantly by the fire within
“Awake my love”
Hide not your beauty behind the coat of winter
Expose that which makes even the goddess jealous
From the ideal in my mind
Now Venus has become flesh
Genuflecting--
I hold her in my arms
Let us enjoy the spark of warmth.

Summer
Sweat drips like rain
Work and toil
Labor it seems without rest
Possessing all in what feels like an eternal spring
No longer can I remember the coldness
Sun penetrates our nude bodies
It is as if the gods themselves control us
Blessed yoke
Happy bondage
Wrapping around my finger as a ring
Flowers and birds
Grass as green as our love
Leaves blooming with intense vigor
Eternally they will sing to us

Fall
Sunset like a surprise
Things are not as warm as they used to be
Trees balding like men
I hold dead leaves
Dead as that initial spark
One by one they fall
Slowly dying away
Winter is soon
Many times we have died
But this time our death has brought life
Harvesting children as  if they were corn
Hidden growth that surprises you like cold
Tears falling like leaves
One by one
Wailing as if an animal was dying
But deep within a new life

An enjoyable read, taking the reader through seasonal/life changes that renew themselves each year.
