All Apologies

This isn’t how it was supposed to go
My intent was never to hurt
I desperately long to go back
Let me never hurt you again
I never envisioned this as my story
I have expected more from this life
But have only been given disappointments
And no longer do I feel to move on
I only wish you the best
And can only hope to set you free from my faults
From this misery I have solely caused
May you live in complete harmony
And know that my heart will forever be by your side
Though as time will pass please do not forget
The love we shared and the hopes and dreams I once had
I have deep sorrow and respect for what you have to carry
For you must carry this burden to the end
But I so desperately ask forgiveness to ease this suffering
But if you shall not grant me this then know, I will always love you
And understand your many reasons and apologize once again for your pain

Forgiveness can be a difficult pill.
In time, one hopefully learns the inherent value of accepting an apology is beyond measure the best choice, for all involved.
