Satin Trace

Weary of the pause
Miles of ribbon road billow behind me
One beat empty of anything
One beat empty of everything
Swept from my lungs
The air electric with your smile
One breath taken in homily
One breath given to destiny
Stunned to silence
Frozen landscapes wait for snow flakes
One beat, one breath
Each a celebration of life
Lived well

this is one you can read, lean back, and sigh a sigh of comfort...nice write...loved the couplets, the form, the style--not to mention the message

"One breath taken in homily"

I adore of your use of homily, an inspirational catchphrase, such a fun word which works perfectly in this piece.

Enjoyed!

Very nice as always and I can visualize the trace of satin ribbon in the rear view mirror gliding over the landscape with each new mile.  Much enjoyed
