Just another silly rambling from long ago Making my way through a deep coma county, I see the daily routine of the hopelessly numb. Setting my tail on the edge of a guardrail, taking some time to rest my legs and my thumb. Looking at the kids all out in the schoolyard... somewhere between fairy tales and hard fact. The future of America... getting the three Rs and trying so hard to find their place in the pack. See the little Lost Boy, playing with Pixie dust... He's done found him a new way to fly. Trying hard to keep happy thoughts in his mind His life will be half over when he gets out of the sky. Chubby Humpty Dumpty, trying to keep it together. Takes her lunch to school and eats it outside. Sitting all alone, trying to patch up the pieces. Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum done found where she hides. Little Miss Muffet has Pinocchio cornered. He's sticking his nose out, but trying to be cool. She's no stranger to eight handed spiders. He thinks he's a prince, but he's only her fool. She ducks around the corner, motioning him to follow. Jack-be-Nimble, see him jumping for joy Turning his back on Jiminy Cricket He's gonna get a chance to be a real boy. Little Boy Blue, sitting out by the bushes. He rubs his eyes and toots him a line Tinkerbell and Lost Boy float down beside him. Three Blind Mice just walking 'round blind. Yonder comes Pinoch, with a clearer complexion Little Miss Muffet's got a hold to his string Wasn't that a dainty dish to set down before him? To her, he's a puppet, but he feels like a king Sometimes it feels like it's not really real. Is it reality if we only pretend? If we don't like the pictures, we can find a new story. If we don't want it all, we just start at the end. But, it's really grim brother, when the truth kicks in. Well, I've gotta go, but I hope it all goes well. I've still got me a long way to roam. I hope somebody will put a few crumbs out, so that all the lost ones can find their way home. They don't have eyes that can make out tomorrow. They don't know today can affect their whole lives. Here I am, chasing down rhymes and rainbows. Feeling like the only one on the road to St. Ives. *** |

although the subject is Grim, indeed, I still have the urge to type :smiles: and I was nodding throughout, wondering if we've wandered down the same roads together--apart... you've got a nice style that reminds me much of oral history--hobbits and the smell of smoke and such.
