Just an old rambling found in an old notebook

There are lessons that life has taught me
Some carried a heavy price
A few were taught with kindness
Others weren't so nice

Lessons learned from observation
Lessons learned from getting burned
My life is a series of lessons
I'd forgotten I had learned

Sometimes I feel socially acceptable
Forgetting that I'm weird
When I shave, I am reminded
of why I grew a beard

I know I'm gonna say
I wont get drunk again again
A song I've sung a thousand times
and can't remember how it ends

There's some things I keep forgetting
There are things that slip my mind
There's stuff I've done for so damn long
I forgot they were a crime

Each night,
I walk from room to room
but there's no sign of you

Is there something I've forgotten?
Something I never knew?

I don't know where I could have lost you
I laid you down right here

Your perfume lingers on the pillow
that I use to wipe my tears

Since you've been gone,
I've remembered...

I swore I'd never love again

It hasn't been this hard forgetting
since I don't remember when

Dear Larry, this is a very poignant write.

Now listen and don't you try to forget: love and be open to love and you will remember everything that really counts.

Love and light.

Since you've been gone,
I've remembered...

I swore I'd never love again

I used to wonder if this lesson would ever "take." *S* Kicked hard enough, I think it did. *S*

Excellent write!!!

Enjoyed this, Larry!  I guess it pays to take notice of what we're learning along the way so we don't have to learn it all over again.
