Even though Bones was only a child, he never ceased to be amused at the typical suburban client’s giddy satisfaction over a freshly mown lawn. Bobby |

Thanks Bill, I have my very small patio 10'X6' tastfully done in gray concrete. I like it that way. It's easy to keep clean, and comfortable for my dog. She's friendly with the neighbors. I take her for a walk three times a day. She's a street dog, just like me. Bobby |

Dear Bobby, I love lawns, but not when they are mown. If you walk barefoot on a freshly mown lawn it isn't a nice feeling. Paradoxically I like the scent of cut grass.... At least that was a job that brought some gratification to Bones, I see. Love, Margherita |

“ I don't like lawns, wouldn't have one.” Bobby, I agree, total waste of nitrogen, but I do like rain forest’s I‘ll tell you up front, I‘m not sure about the apostrophe in rain forest ? |

Thanks dear Chopsticks, I'm very pleased you agree with me on lawns. No, you don't need that apostrophe in "rain forests". Love Bobby |

guess it's my suburban upbringing, but put me in the column that requires more petrol to maintain the yard that its greenspace is worth...but love to mow good memories stirred by your write...enjoyed |

Lawns and garden, now you are talking my language Bobby, we have an acre and a half of lawn sprinkled with rare trees. It was one of my life's joys to cut the lawn on a ride on mower after I retired, but since I have been in a wheelchair my wife does all the gardening and some of the lawn. We get a friend to come in and cut the rest. Enjoyed your post Lindsay |

Thanks Steavenr, I'm pleased I'm city through and through. Mowing lawns brings back bad memories. I like my tiny concreated patio. Bobby |

Thanks LindsayP, I don't have a lawn. I'm city through and through. To me, mowing grass brings back bad memories of forced servitude. I have a concreted patio with no grass, and I like it that way. I’m sorry that you miss your lawn. Bobby |
