I awoke this morning
Just layin' in my bed,
My head was really throbbin'
My eyes were cherry red.

Every morning's rotten
My body's always 'hurtin'
I eat some Oxycontin,
Which will help i'm certain.

I'll drink a little orange juice
With Smirnoff over ice,
(They say a healthy breakfast,
Starts the day off right)!

Then around nine thirty,
If I'm feeling bad,
I'll have another little snack,
Some pink or blue Lortabs.

Ya see I have this little growth,
That's caused this damn addiction,
My doc says not to worry
He's concerned with my affliction.

So I'll have VO and Vicodin,
Cold pizza and warm beer,
An oxycontin for dessert,
Then puke on Balladeer.

I think the best therapy would be to engage in some joke with Balladeer ... besides writing poems like this one, which I enjoyed!

I try not to take anything more than an excedrin, even if I need something else.
