Mom always was
a very private person.

She never did
like to cause,
or make a fuss.

She had Bones in
the dead of night.

She cut the cord
and did all that stuff,
because she knew how to.

She’d been around.

Now that is truly scary!!!!
In the distant past, most were born at home, though rarely was the infant's umbilical chord severed by the mother!

Kacy,

I've only know one person that did this at home, and did not kill themselves, or the child.  That was back in 1960.  She was very lucky.

Let's say that there were at least two Angels there to assist her during the big event, hers and Bones'.

You write of a very strong woman, no doubt, dear Bobby!

Thanks dear Margherita,

Yes, probably so.

Necessity is the mother of invention.  She was a very small person.

Now that is what I would call a strong woman! I suppose we never know what we are capable of until we are tested! The spirit of the pioneer woman was alive and well in her! ~ and thank goodness for her little bundle of Bones!

Thanks dear Linda,

Yes, Mom was a strong and brave woman--and of course, where would we be without brave Bones to show us the way.

Mom and Bones say hello.

Thanks Lindsay,

Yes, my mother was a very strong person.  This poem however is about Bones mother, who was also a very strong person.
