desires simmer like sullen whispers on a sweat-soaked neck
affections boiling over in steam-laden pots of the soul
clouds of confusion meander through the mind
distracting the senses with auras of attraction

murmuring in motion, stuttering in silence
the heart rambles through the brambles
of commitment, contentment, contemplation

earning itself the mantra of make-believe
fantasy exercising fortuitously

leaving the mind to the lacework of surrender

TD,
thank you...always a high compliment when you comment...thank you for taking your time to read it

Margherita,
appreciate your very kind remarks, nice of you to read and comment...your graciousness means a lot

Bob,
thanks...interestingly it (the write, i.e.) almost went a different direction, but afterwards it was the genesis for that title...appreciate your comments

wonderfull, as your work usually is. the title is just as brilliant as the rest of the poem.
