How I miss the sweet dreams of childhood When slumber fluttered in on fairy wings to the soft, lovely strains of a lullaby and each awakening was a joyful adventure. Oh, Morpheus, God of dreaming, return me to those dreams of youth, free of the burdens I have gathered While traveling this earthly journey. Deliver me from the restless, haunting dreams of age and the struggle to return each day. Return me to the conscious world of a glorious morning ...gently, please. Beautiful and intense write, dear Ida. It will never be the same again of course, but I believe sleep and dreams really do have the task to restore us on every level and they do if we let them... but before closing the eyes we have to unburden our minds and that we have to learn. (meditation, autogene training, relaxation ...). I am sure Morpheus will come to your rescue! Love and hugs. Margherita |

Life is tiring, is it not? Particularly liked the line: "Deliver me from the restless, haunting dreams of age" shimmering writing, MM tb |

I like to think we're aging gracefully, although we're aging just the same. Like you, I miss those fancy and free spirited dreams of my youth. Really nice writing, Ida~ |

I enjoyed your poem very much Ida, and wish for you everything you wish for yourself, including peaceful sleep, either dreamless or with peaceful dreams. I don't know that I feel the same way, though I don't think that I feel exactly the same way that Bobby does either, but somewhere in between. Your poem has given me many things to ponder in my own life. - Owl |
