The aroma of coffee
Wafting slowly through the air;
The essence of awakened morning
Pushing me from beneath the sheets of sleep…

Coffee grounds ever bold
Flowing warmly o’er my tongue
Water and Cream to flavor
With just a hint of coffee in my cup…

But each sip draws a smile…
The sweetest cup to savor;
With her proud little hands
She roused the sun
Just for me…

Has been awhile since indulging in one of your works and of course being a coffee theme, there is no way I could just pass by.  Nicely done and "GREAT" theme.

Thanks MARK!  Glad you enjoyed the morning coffee with me

I generally don't prefer the grounds in my cup..and mostly do like to taste the coffee as well as the creamer...lol  But how sweet of my girl to want to make me my morning sunshine!

dg,

What a wonderful surprise to see your poetry on the boards.  It happens too seldom.  Like Mark, I can't resist a title with coffee in it and I enjoyed sharing some with you.

You made me smile.  Sometimes the kind thought has to outweigh the coffee grounds.

Hey!  Thanks for bringing my coffee poem back to the top! I appreciate all of your replies

I love this one, not 'cause the coffee was good--it wasn't... (LOL) but the thought was so sweet!

thanks again for reading!
