Sands of time In and out the sands of time There’s only one thing that I want to call mine It’s close but so far away Why does it keep moving why wont it stay Backwards and forwards round and round I think it’s time to keep my feet on the ground And stand here and wait for it to come to me But it might never come it might never see What do I do with this confusion of mine I keep misreading sign after sign It’s all backfired on me and now I see Everything I have ever done has backfired on me I think I know why it’s because I moved to slow Now I just sit here and go with the flow You get what you’re given and so you must play Thousands of paths and no right or wrong way So what do you do with the cards in your hand? Do you sit there and play or sink into the sand Well I chose to sink and now I’m out of luck When I did try to swim I found I was stuck So I keep sinking and I am up to my eyes The truth will not help me neither will lies So I sit here and wait for whatever may come When I am fully engulfed then I’ll be done There’s only one thing that I want to call mine But I let it slip through the sands of time |

Dear Andrew, nice that you are back! This is a very well written poem, your longing is deeply felt. Time is precious, use it. Sometimes we can't get what we desire, but this is no reason to capitulate! Always look and reach for the stars! Soulful suggestion, dear James! love and joy Margherita |
