there is gravel on the glass there at the curve of the lover's highway where slipping off and slipping in seems natural enough for dreamers the bank is slow and easy down letting you drift into a dead end with the soft mouth whispering of lovely like mud on your shoes and you don't even want to swim just submerge into the warm willing until the slippery sides of falling feel like silk on grasping fingers funny how we never climb back out once we seem to succeed at the drowning and coming up for air would be chilly on the edges of our wet ended skin so we just listen to the warm ____________ daark |
