Forever Yes (Valentines Day 2008)

Tomorrow is for Valentines -
I long to be with you.
You are the one who owns my heart,
Our moments are too few.

Long years have kept us far apart,
Life happened in between.
And now that we are back in touch,
I think what might have been.

Down these long years one thing was true
My heart could not ignore.
That my first "yes", once given you,
Was "yes" forevermore.

How could we guess those years ago
When we were both fourteen
That we would walk the paths we've walked
Or seen what we have seen?

Life and marriages aside,
Time has clearly shown
That through the years we spent apart
My love has only grown.

Today I could not love you more
Had we always been together -
The "yes" you first drew from my heart
Has proven "yes" forever.

apparently the last line was sonehow left off when I cut and pasted it into the box - I apologize.....it is fixed now. Thank you for your comments and for drawing my attention to the mistake.
