Happy to be You I awake to the crescent smile of daybreak Grinning from ear to ear As the moon does from star to star For even when darkness flees The sun’s dimples match my own Brightening yesterday's dark roads With traversing golden lines That cut out pieces of reality By pasting pages of dreams Onto a canvas of a perfect day Where tears of bad attitudes And reflections of self-denial Settle and dry into a calming beauty Of yellow roses and child like laughter With realization that others would gladly be me To escape the stares of their born disfigurements Or cardboard boxes in which they live… And to those chosen few Bad days are nothing more than a smear On the windows of time To be wiped clean with the gentleness of love From a God who loves them the most.
