Mr. Branigan passed away. I know because I went to his funeral. He was a brilliant man And it was a nice do. Rick Carrol's hang glider Stopped gliding Or perhaps he's just in hiding I'm not sure which of those 2 is true. Mr. Borrett gave up teaching and ran away ro Spain Darryl Evans must have brushed his nerve problems To one side Because now he drives a train. Am I the only one Who always still feels a little bit ill When looking back on schooldays? To whom it brings a sinking feeling On a Sunday evening Lying on my bed staring at the ceiling. And all the while, I'd know I'd have to forego My favourite T.V. show In order to grapple with sum simultaneous equations (Not half as well as some Asians) And then it would be morning and school. And on a Monday we all assembled together Whilst the Canon trembled And gave us all his blessng (For ever and ever) And then it was time for lessons With a bunch of boys Who didn't want to be taught Or much care for learning. And who'd have thought they'd all end up earning 2 or 3 times as much as me. Carl Dupree and his minions Used to follow me round To remind me That in their opinion, I was unattractive. I used to congratulate them on their wit. They just used to tell me to shut up... ALL NAMES ARE ENTIRELY FICTICIOUS... |

Simon, Much fun as usual, I was beginning to think you had found another outlet for your talents....did we go to the same school? I'm sure I remember the exact same thing happening to me also, I should know but cannot remember whether my name is ficticious or not, perhaps you can help me out on that one? Better yet, Methinks I will have to throw down the gauntlet & issue you with a challenge as you have been very quiet of late...... Cheers John |

Simon, I too feel ill remembering school days. My half Asian grandson is very good at math. It's a matter of innate intelligence. Bobby |

Now, after reading your memories, I find myself immersed in mine ... you choose a great topic and the outcome is very impactful! love Margherita |

Yes Simon, kids can be very cruel at school and make school days a very unhappy memory, but we get through them just the same and are often much wiser for the problems we had to face. great write. Lindsay |
