Blessings of Life While sitting in the mall watching people I noticed an elderly couple walking by. Perhaps in their seventys, they were at least sixty nine, the woman using a cane, but both getting along just fine. Watching them I started thinking that they were a couple that knew about love and caring. Watching them I could see that an important part of life is companionship and sharing. I thought of the joy perhaps they had shared within loves tender caress, and I felt a softness within my heart that gave me happiness. And then quite suddenly, I thought of the pain that will come to them someday, when the one that they love, will in sickness pass away, and with a saddened heart they would be left with heartaches and memories, I hope precious memories. For that moment I was sad to feel that pain, but it only took another moment in time and new thoughts were gained, as I watched a mother with her young son it brought me back to the important thoughts of today, thoughts like loving and caring, actions like holding and sharing, these things will bring joy into your lives. To all you that have devoted your heart, time and energy to these pursuits, you already know that these are the blessings of life. JamesLee 12February 2008 |
