The time has come to see them off And they're taking the baby away...oh my They're taking the baby away The kids have grown, must make their own And they're taking the baby away...oh my They're taking the baby away No more sing-songs or lullabyes They're taking the baby away...oh my They're taking the baby away No more sweet smells or infant sighs And they're taking the baby away...oh my They're taking the baby away The one thing I cling to, in order to live And they're taking the baby away...oh my They're taking the baby away |

Tina~ This is precious .. kind of how I felt when my first child left for college~ Of course 24 hours of tears ... I got over it~ (sort of) *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

I know just how you feel, Tina When my oldest granddaughter was a baby My daughter and son-in-law lived with us for awhile while they saved money to buy a house. When they bought the house and told us they were moving (two blocks away) My husband said, "Are you taking Leah?" After we stopped laughing, he got used to it. |

Thanks for the kind replies. Ida, my situation is almost identical. The children won't be far away, but it will seem like an eternity between visits I'm sure. |

Those are emotions indeed! And then when you recover, there will be the grandchildren and you will feel blessed once again. I enjoyed this, dear Tina. Love, Margherita |

TinaTrivett, The picture goes well with the poem. Been there. I was rather pleased to get rid of the smelly diapers. Think of the bright side. Bobby |

(This reminds me of the funny farm song back in the 60's or 70's. I loved that song and we all thought they were coming to take us away a bunch of times!) I can imagine your reluctance in seeing them move. Maybe it won't be an such an eternity before you see them. I wish you luck. I like Bobby's reply, no more dirty diapers... miscellanea |
