Stormy Sea I dreamed that we were drifting on a dark and stormy sea All about were crashing waves surrounding you and me There between the two of us we had just one life vest The water tossed us all about upon the oceans crest Clouds had blotted all the stars and blackness filled the night Far off in the distance was a tiny speck of light But soon we saw the stormy sea was taking us away Farther from the tiny light and leading us astray Seeing I was tired and without the will to fight You turned to me and said “dear one it will be alright” And off you swam toward the light and left the vest with me You knew that you were more prepared to face the raging sea But with the vest all to myself, I now could stay afloat And soon I would be picked up by another passing boat When the boat found harbor and my journey reached its end I looked about and saw the smiling face of you, my friend I asked you why you left me there upon a stormy sea You held me tight, and softly, this is what you said to me “I never had the slightest doubt that you would find your way So I came on ahead to find a place for us to stay” * With Thoughts of Sy * |
