![]() Girl At The Gate Of Time It's good that it's Springtime. The Sunflowers are not yet sad- Hanging their heads, Heavy with many cares And little worries to come. The Roses Are whispering Their fragrant Promise Confirming the hope Of Love that can yet be. Mother says That I'm not a child Anymore, That it's time to look ahead And leave those childish ways Behind. My heart isn't ready, Quite yet, Because I'm afraid. I know I was made for Love But, is Love really out there Waiting for me? I hope He can wait a little longer; There's so much I need to know, And I still want to get this white dress A little dirty As I play for just a while more- Dreams and tender time Guarded closely by Persephone. Still, a last deep breath, Though, I hesitate To exhale. ·´~`·»Garapan«·´~`· |

Many thanks to all of you great writers. Indeed, this poem was based solely upon this image by my friend, a photographer with an eye for living moments. ·´~`·»Garapan«·´~`· |

That is a delightful poem my dear and there is certainly nothing wrong in lookink ahead, but retain your childish ways as long as you can, for you will grow up soon enough and with any luck you will have a whole lifetime of being an adult ahead of you. Childhood and adolescence is such a very special time that we don't realise when we are young. Believe me my girl make the most of it while you can and good luck. Lindsay |

Thank you, Lindsay. However, if I read you correctly I believe you have mistaken me for a female. I'm quite male, I assure you, lol! ·´~`·»Garapan«·´~`· |

Garapan, if only there were more men who could enter the heart of a woman or a girl, the world would be a so much gentler and happier place! I love your poem - and the picture that inspired it and that you interpreted so sensitively. - Owl |

Growing up too fast is a regret that lasts a lifetime. Not in my lifetime, I was a parade of one marching down the street. But anyway, your gentle words are sweet and sincere. You wrote this so nice, Garapan~ |

OMG - do I have permission to print this - with your name and copyright of course, and give it to my daughter to hang on her mirror? I think she would love it and it would be great discussion for us.... she's 13. |

I think that if I were to say no, I would destroy the very spirit and essence with which I wrote this piece, Ms. Graeshine. Please, help yourself. ·´~`·»Garapan«·´~`· |

Garapan my sincere apollogies my friend, That is a terrible mistake to make but apart from giving you the wrong sex you can still take heed of the message within. Have a good day and take care. Lindsay |

After I read this a couple of times, I made this guy I was talking to read it because i wanted him to read one specific line that related to him and I "And I still want to get this white dress, A little dirty" Your poem spoke words better than i could :-) |

I am consumately pleased that in some small way the words of my heart were at your service, KeyLime. That was a report of great significance and I appreciate your sharing. A guy comes to a point where he wants to know what he does has meaning. You just gave that to me, along with Lady Grae. Thank you! ![]() ·´~`·»Garapan«·´~`· |
