In a life time you come across people who will change your life forever
Whether it be in a good or bad way
With every experience you encounter, deal with, overcome….
There comes a sense of empowerment, of strength that grows within you…
Becoming resilient to the outside forces that may bring you down
Facing your demon is the best way of healing
Dealing with the raw pain, is a healthy way of letting go
For if we hold resentment and hate in our heart
We will hold on to that pain even longer
Forgetting is not an option, but forgiveness and embracing the one who has hurt you
Relieves the heart… frees the soul
Yet your mind will hold the memory, never to be forgotten
For it has left a permanent mark in your heart
But in time it will fade into the shelf of the past
And all you will keep is the knowledge and lessons learned
And if true love for that person existed within you
That love will remain embedded in your heart
till the end of time
A bitter sweat reminder…. of what you thought you once had…

A very profound and wise write, Jeanette. I hope some of the others read this and recognize the wisdom in it.

Wise words.
Don't know if I can be that person just yet,
who forgives, but doesn't forget.
Hand in hand the two seem to be,
Siamese twins,
Not opposite for me.
But I see what you say as a wise way to live
And look forward to when I can once again give.

Very wise, mature advice, Jeannette.  So much pain is fraught when one doesn't do this - for the person concerned and all involved.

I greatly appreciate your words!  Its is from a very recent heart ache and betrayal that I say this.  The pain was so, that I was drowning in it. But as soon as I faced and embraced the demon.. The pain became less and I was able to look forward and never turn back.. and I forgave not for him but for myself...   . I wanted to share this with all of you!

So true. Unforgiveness burns more than calories.
