I like hearing the sea,
the tune of waves on the sand,
weaving the threads of silence,
crushing the hulls of boats,
then the hulls of minds,
I do not know more beautiful words
than those of the waves,
the sea seems to speak
as a mirror waiting for a face,
every beat, infinite.

Thank you Roniece, my grandparents were born on an little island (Molene) in the Atlantic ocean...their parents were fishermen too for generations, they didn't speak french, only breizh (breton language)
These people had very difficult lives and my mother (75 years old) talk me about that from time to time....
So you see we have common ground ..

Have a nice day

This is a wonderful, romantic reflection of the sea, one I only partially share. As an Island boy myself, and a son of the sea, that feeling is mixed with awed respect and a healthy fear.

Thank you very much Garapan, your comment was moving...I know the sea can be very dangerous and hostile, When she strikes it's terrible ... I just talk about the friendly part here, the calm of the waves that sounds like a clock of eternity....

thanks again for your warm comment....

If you want to sea the ocean at it's most beautiful and wildly exciting. you need to travel up the pacific coast from No. Calif,
to Canada. unforgettable! I think we are all drawn to the sea and your thoughts on it are it are lovely. Thank you for the background, very interesting.

The allure of the sea is indescribable; the voice of nature speaks in a language only the soul can hear. Your poem is an inspiration, as if I were standing along the shore . . .

Hello Ida, I will surely do it one day;  next summer I project to visit the northwest coast near Seattle and Vancouver then go to yellowstone and Mont Rushmore..I have tripped between San FRancisco and LA by the coast,I know the beauty of The pacific Ocean and I would like to do it again...If you have your own digital photos of the ocean and have some time, I would surely appreciate to see 4 or 5 of them if it don't bother you,
  have a nice day

Yes Art,  Nature speaks to the soul like music, I totally agree with you and remember when I was young listening (after a bath drying under the sun) the sound of the waves...It was really great moments...

thank you for your very appreciated comment.

Oh yes, Yann - the ever-changing, but changeless sea - the inspiration of many poems, songs, paintings and musings.  I enjoyed your poem.

Thank you Jeswley and Owl for your kind comments...I'm glad to live at one kilometer from the ocean, as you said it's an always changing event. Alas now with the price of the gas and the global warming I don't ride too much along the beautiful coast...

Your perception of the sea's voice and music is so beautifully rendered, dear Yann.

Water has a special magic ... I love my lake of Zurich forever, but I was overwhelmed the first time I saw the vastness of the sea ... sometimes when I meditate I listen to the sound of waves, it is extremely soothing.

Love,
Margherita
