. A slender blue Country stream Along its bank A single line of trees It is winter There is snow On one side There is no one In the view And somehow For reasons No one can explain That makes it sad . |

I love Japanese woodcuts, and the art of Japan in general. The scene you portray would not personally evoke sadness in me, but remember many (if not most) Hiroshige cuts as having a human presence in them. A fine poet-print, John. |
