call me patch,a star from a distant sky. once upon a time,in my part of the heaven, Sun came and shun so bright he captivated everybody. he took my heart and owned every inch of my light for years.. but like all heavenly bodies, he had to go and find his rightful sky.. and so he left me, and since then, it never stopped RAINING. it rained, endlessly, in my sky. but i never attempted to let him know im drowned by the raindrops. i guess i was just too scared to put his dreams on the line. because afterall,i have always known, he was meant for so much more. i dont want to be in his way to reach his dreams.. i ought to stay here, this is my rightful sky. PERFECT SITUATIONS MUST GO WRONG. [This message has been edited by i_am_patch! (07-03-2008 04:27 AM).] |

I recently saw an advertisement for a book called STORM CAN'T HURT THE SKY. I haven't read the book, but I get a lot out of the title. Your poem does the same kind of thing -- it links the cosmic to the personal. Thanks for posting it. poetry podcasts, blogs and[ photopoems at URL= http://anthonyarmstrong.ca |
