The March

She walked amongst our ranks each day
Not in front or far behind
But matching step with us in kind

And called to those who rushed ahead
To slow their steps to all in kind
Lest those out of sight be left behind.

And those who slowed the march , she urged
To pace their steps to all in kind
So that all or none be left behind.

But when she stopped to take a bow
All steps now marched and matched in kind
Leaving none but the leader behind

But she’ll still walk amongst our ranks
Not in front or far behind
But in our hearts and in our mind.
