Thirty-seven years ago,
She became my wife,
Thirty-seven years ago,
She became my life.

Who is this woman that I wed
when I was but a boy?
The mother of my children four,
The source of all my joy?

The answer is quite simple,
Her name is Connie Lynne,
A small town girl who is my all,
Where all my dreams begin.

She’s the purest note of nightingale,
First gentle breath of dawn,
The cooling whisper of night’s breeze,
Sweet song of heaven’s spawn.

She’s music of an angel’s harp,
Aglaia from on high,
The gloried blaze of comet’s path,
Across a midnight sky.

She is the ink upon the page,
That tells of one true love,
And takes one close in warm embrace,
To soar night skies above.

She is the sparkle of sun,
Upon high mountain’s snow,
A racing brook down mountain’s side,
To verdant plains below.

She is a spire of billowed cloud,
That hides the summer sear,
A petaled wildflower of the lea,
With fragrant scent so dear.

She is the gateway to the stars,
The path to heaven’s portal,
Whose kiss each night on weathered brow,
Turns a simple man immortal.

She is the woman I did marry,
On the twelth of June,
After thirty-seven years,
She still can make me swoon.

I sometimes pen of roses,
a bloom without compare,
I love a rose named Connie,
with whom my life I share.

Tim,

I won't say that you and Connie are lucky.  I'll say that you are smart to recognize the good in your life and keep it alive.

I love this.
