I’m craving tomatoes lately Because they cause salmonella Maybe that’s also the reason I wanna hug on someone’s fella We only want what we can’t have Is this a modern human trait? Do we not desire something Until we know it’s too late? This shows a certain leaning To enjoy our own frustration Looking back on life’s path And feeling dissatisfaction Why can’t I want a tomato When it’s safe for me to eat Would that remove the danger Of wanting a forbidden treat? |

Nice to read you in this thought provoking significant write! The desire for forbidden things must be in-built ever since humans appeared on this planet. We always want what we can't have, it's a risky business too. On the other hand it's a characteristic that induces us to dare, which under certain circumstances can mean survival. I enjoyed your ode to a tomato! Love, Margherita |

I think... no. It would just make you want more carrots instead. Brussel sprouts are tempting, too. ·´~`·»Garapan«·´~`· |

LOL at Garapan's reply. Oh, it's good to see your name here! Your tomato ode is sweet and tasty! I want full-power cheese, but must stick to fat-free or soy cheese to keep "C" under control. |

Nothing gets attention as quickly as someone yelling "NO!" But hearing it, the first notion is often "Hey, I hadn't thought of that." Well written and a lot of fun. |

Before I read ANY of the replies, please know I'm smiling widely, and wildly... just thing, m'friend, that tomatoes were once known as the "poison fruit"...[yea, I know you know I know...] so aren't we glad for salsa??? Loved it! P.S. I'll be giving a CLASS in October on "punny" poetry...may I enlighten them with yours? |

Hello, Sharon. Don't think I've introduced myself before. Indeed, I just binged on a tray of brownies. It made me sick for a while, but fun. Jaime |
