If the heart is homeless,
does it not still bleed?
dream of a time to be
beaten, held yet freed?
If painful love is known,
wouldn't that be a start?
a place to learn, to live,
to draw then part?

Sometimes not trying, not living, is the wrong
Sometimes all it takes is one to belong ....

To be a giver doesn't one
need to take?
and if it's grief, doesn't one
sharing make?
Memories can work,
especially those deep
but if not worth doing
than one can't keep

No doubt, dear ctowen, it is always worth giving and it is extremely important also to be able to receive, to take.

We do long to belong, that's also true ... of the kind "I am yours, you are mine", but we are on risky ground then. The best way to belong probably is "belong together", when we are not confining into "possession".
