The sky was a violet gray When I walked past the farmhouse, In my dream The windmill started to turn startling a white dove, That was perched on one of the arms The sun hid behind a cloud But I knew it was there We’d played this game before There was hay and feed and Animals about, but that was it There was no sound Not even from the faceless farmers With their straw hats Slashing a swath through the fields Of wheat with their rusty scathes It smelt like fresh bread, and manure And honeysuckle, and rotting grain The white and tan cat chased the dove Making its plumage part of the sky As I came upon two wishing wells The silence was deafening As I let two of these feathers fall gently Into my hands And down into these old brick spring taps One wish was to live And the other, well As I watched them begin their descent I could see my own reflection in these Earth eyes from beneath And it made me think about my own Mortality, my own triumphs, and, My own regrets I figured the first feather to touch Mother Nature’s tears, would be my Direction at the crossroad, The foretoken of my future My watermark, of inevitability But a gust of air slid in from behind me Reached down and grabbed these feathers In her hands and held them aloft for a moment And then, she let them go and went away And so did I I never did care much for destiny, and fate I’m more a choice, than chance guy Two small white butterflies Did a courtship dance in the sky As I stepped over a broken gate And headed out down the mud riddled path I grabbed two shiny apples from a tree One had a worm My jeans were dirty and my neck was sore And so was my back Maybe I’ve been carrying too much For too long I don’t know I always thought that I was strong And I am In denying things Around the corner There was a hill I climbed it, Because it seemed lonely It was all ready for me though With beautiful wildflowers And soft flowing grasses A tree over to the side With a small creek That I could babble with As I laid my back against the Willow’s arms I started to think how nice it would be To bypass our winter And relive our spring altogether To vanquish the night And let this day well, Just last forever But then how would the beauty ofAutumn be, without the harshness Of summer How wonderful it is, our ability To see the beauty in things I guess that’s what keeps The majority of us From bringing hurt To one another And yet Is it the thorns of your beauty My dear rose That keep me from Holding you Close to my cheek And soft upon my lips The sky is lowering Its eyelashes And the light is chasing the sun To the next imaginary Town The wind like sugar Is sweet on my mouth As I think of you The rivers, the breast, naked hair Chained to my fingers tight As I come a long for you Inside your inner smile You, the beholder Of beauty In your eyes You the graceful creator Who weaves secrets into shrouds And tears into tapestries Of earth and sky You the discoverer of lost thoughts And old teardrops, Last laughs and turned backs Lets stop focusing on our vision To where we lose sight of the view You who plays with God Eyes that see a different world Without fear of failing And with fear of not trying We’re on the last page Of spiraling time Fireballs and woodcocks And blossoms of foam Ink wells down to the centers of the earth Let me help you Look inside yourself To know that You’ve been you, All along And so have I This morning when I Lifted the blanket of night Off of me, I saw two feathers in your eyes As you smiled when I looked Upon the beauty of your face And I knew I just knew That the wishes And the wells I set in place Within my dreams Were always, Going to be You Always you Always, You Freedom of expression is our, write. |

Every day I look to see if there is a title with your name next to it! ~ and today I was over-joyed to find three! In all honesty, Rich, each one is an exemplary example of exquisite writing. Love to you, my poetic friend, Linda ![]() |

![]() Richy, you've been sprayed with magic love-ink! This is a gorgeous read, one I'll tuck into the library to read again. I liked these very much: "There was no sound Not even from the faceless farmers With their straw hats Slashing a swath through the fields Of wheat with their rusty scathes" and "Two small white butterflies Did a courtship dance in the sky" |

Richy, I enjoyed this immensely. It seemed so surreal, that I suspect that it is the accurate (or near accurate) description of real dream. I loved your ponderings as you went through your dream. I particularly loved the dream-real soundlessness; and the animals, feed and hay; and the faceless farmers; and your jeans being dirty and your neck and back being sore made the dream so real and your ponderings on that were interesting; and that dream-like, benevolent peace that you blend with the girl and God and goodness; and the concept of the benefit of an unfavourite season being appreciation of a favourite one - and the unfavourite one being summer. Most people in America and Europe - and even in Africa - prefer Summer. It was interesting because you obviously come from somewhere that is very hot in summer. Where are you? Spain? Mexico? However, I PARTICULARLY, PARTICULARLY, loved: "There was a hill I climbed it, Because it seemed lonely." - Owl |

Richy...the path you walk within the heartbeat of this poem, is overflowing with a treasure that most don't recognize; and in being able to write it, you brought me with you. Thank you. I hope she appreciates you! ![]() |

The story you tell is both sensual and beautiful. I was wrapped in it from word one to word last. Wonderfully written story of life and love. "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |
