. At some point Not long from now All the stupidity Will come to a stop After that All that will be left Will be sleep perhaps A few dreams A column of children Being led by women In black and white To watch at the movies Some old man with a beard Part the biblical sea A father and son Hunting fishing First crush the girl Who sat at that end Of the playground Each lunch time In summer at school Payday liberty Weekends on B.C. Street In Okinawa Diving Off Puerto Rico A generation of veterans Going home Great Lakes The oceans Crimson autumn Deep red courage Under pale blue skies True friends Before it became a sin Love when love Wasn’t all this sad . |

John, This is truly beautiful, and it's beautifully written. It's something for everyman, meaning every human. Bobby |

. Thank You Both When the both of you like something, (especially you Helen), then I suspect I've done something good. Thanks again John |

I read every one of your poems, John, and I always feel a deep understanding of your writing. This one is especially thought provoking. Ida |
