South Bronx Cha Cha Chocolate
was a big hit this summer
When days were warm As frying pans,
It was so sweet and calm then
down to melt on my tongue
the incredible ice cream,
to let intoxicating coolness
Invade the romantic idleness,
South Bronx Cha Cha Chocolate
was a big hit this summer.

Yann,

I'm glad you enjoyed something named after the South Bronx.  NYC is a wonderful place.  My Angelo teaches right across the river from there.

interesting 'write!'

I'm rather fond of the concept of:

"...intoxicating coolness
Invad(ing)...romantic idleness"

applause for this 'penning!'

Oh, I love this poem.  Ice-cream and chocolate - two of the most delicious treats in the world together.  I feel I have missed out in life to have never tasted a South Bronx Cha Cha Chocolate!

I think my favourite line is "When days were as warm as frying pans".

When I was a teacher, I often used the concept of tasting ice-cream to get my pupils to specify why they liked or didn't like a poem (or anything else for that matter, but I used it mostly about poetry) - "I like ice-cream because it tastes nice" was not a good enough reason.  Your poem brought back my teaching days to me - after it made me long for a South Bronx Cha Cha Chocolate ice-cream!

Bon appetit, indeed! Deliciously delightful!

I can almost savor the flavor of the cool creamy chocolate ice cream on my tongue! ~ "Almost" is the operative word! Now me wants da real thang!!!

Hi Owl, Ice cream  and chocolate are a lucky combination even in poetry sometimes, I'm glad you enjoyed the poem, and that it recalled you some experiences while teaching (it's a difficult job for me and I'm not very easy with) I wrote this poem because I enjoyed the name itself ;
South Bronx Cha Cha Chocolate,

  Have a nice day
