Call of Appalachia Dare to roam these verdant summer hills… (along resplendent streams in endless wander) with a calm, clear mind and unencumbered heart, where ancient rocks speak with the quiet-thunderous ‘voice’ of Deep-Time certainties… and even the tiniest, fallen leaf drifting in wind or water… shall connect your spirit, (in the ebb and flow of precious, infinitesimal moments) to an eternally creative universe of boundless beauty and quintescent promise. ---b. e. adams (5/31/08) |

Take a bow, poet, for this deep-time beauty: "where ancient rocks speak with the quiet-thunderous ‘voice’ of Deep-Time certainties..." This is gorgeous! "resplendent streams in endless wander" |

Ah, yes, Appalachia, a place of simple truths. Your poem touches the spirit of those who understand the power of nature. Ida |

Your vividly descriptive poem brought to mind a glorious vacation I once spent in Appalachia. The call to return, has just gotten stronger! Your imagery and verbiage are so rich and engaging! Linda |

"to an eternally creative "universe of boundless beauty and quintescent promise." What a lovely phrase with a favorite word: "quintescent" |

I love reading poems that are so well crafted that comment seems superfluous! This is magic in the sound of words! Art |

Yes, the free cheese and black canned beef the government used to supply to hungry people was very tasty. I must admit, sharing lunches at school was kind of fun. Bobby |

Hi Bruce , in all your poem the instants (the time) are precious, you are in a place but you recognize the instant you are here as unique, I always care for these instants too and I'm glad to find some in your poems... Have a nice day yann |
