May I remember I’m less than the sand; There, maps are made where bare feet stand, and Castles dream their way to land. I am no greater than the sand. I am less than the grass, Its spring, its bounce, The vital nourishment Provided by insect house. Without want or greed, Grain shares its seed, Unknowing, or caring of legacy. The water droplets are greater than I, How they sparkle the grass, Put the shine on the pine; With soap and some suds, A shower divine. The tear, a cleanser, a drop that won’t last Water to clean out the dust from the past; It, too, is greater than I. Proof of life, hidden in cry. Am I not greater than any thing, The bug, the wind, the sun, the sting? I proclaim, “I am indeed!” I’m less than He and more than me in reflection through the drop. I am greater than myself when like grass I bend and give, More than myself, when in humility, Yet, in strength I try to live. No less am I than the treasure on the sand I should seek, Promised by the rainbow, If only I believe. [This message has been edited by miscellanea (02-08-2008 08:46 PM).] |

Misce, I do believe that this is my favourite of your poetry that I have heretofore read ~ and that is saying a mouthful, m'dear! I absolutely adore this divinely sweet poem of grace-filled writing! "I’m less than He and more than me in reflection through the drop." ~ Indeed, ye BE! Love & God's Light, Linda |

Margherita, I'm glad you enjoyed it. When I wrote it, I was bitter about being the lowest one on the hierachial scale, seemingly unappreciated. It kept bugging me until I began to write. Then I realized, I have the choice of how I perceive others, myself, and the situation. This, I would not have realized so quickly if it were not the gift we have in writing. I cannot thank Ron enough for giving us a place to write and think things through. NOW, I feel re-generated and have no problems! All through the medicine of the written word. Thanks, Margherita and Ron, if you happen to read this! Oh, and to our wonderful moderators, as well. You are very much appreciated! misce' |

Artic Wind, By the way, Artic Wind, I love both spellings of your name! (This is my particular preference because you are so creative and artsy in your thoughts and creation of poetry and its presentation.) Thanks for your kind response. Have a super weekend! misce' |

Mzscellanea~ I like the all of this ... erasing a negative through our writing is a good, good thing~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Margherita, It IS good to touch ground here. Yes, a "grounding place"! Margherita, thank you for the warm welcome back. It seems I am inundated with work and can only sneak a moment now and then. I had thought I had been forgotten... Thank you, Dear Lady, for taking time again to think of me and reflect upon my words. You're all very special to me regardless my ability to touch base often. It's good to hear from you again. hugs, cathy |

miscellanea encourages Constructive Critiques: "I am not a one hundred percenter; I just don't have the attention span to maintain a particular style or writing technique, nor do I have time to study writing. I admire those who do, but it is not my ambition to become a noted writer. I write because I can erase. I can erase because I write. Go easy on me... Thanks! " Marge, I copied my critique message to show you how well you've got me figured out... You hit the nail right on the head! Yes, writing is a powerful tool to change the perspective of one's world around. Thanks, Marge, for taking the time to comment. cathy |

Still subbing Cathy...although off today due to the primaries in MD... come March will be long term Reading teacher until the end of the school year. Still trying to decide about full time since I don't agree with the way discipline is in all schools and do not want to spend the rest of my life feeling in danger. M |

Miscellanea...I like you have found another completely new world thru Passions. The friends I have made here will last me a lifetime. I never thought that I would ever write poetry. Growing up in fact I hated school except for playing sports and meeting girls LOL. I can only say that the night I stumbled onto this site was a life changing experience for me. Thanks so much for sharing your feelings with me and for allowing all of us to be a part of your poetic life...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |
