I look into eyes of the darkest brown
Sad forlorned basset hound
A little beast, which she be
Damn she’s looking just like me!

Her heart is true and always will be
She loves watching the TV
Her favorites are the cooking shows
Perhaps that’s why her midline grows

A speckle belly beast with droopy eyes
A lot of wrinkles and chubby thighs
Demanding belly rubs and kisses galore
If you don’t she’ll kick you to the floor

On the bed she sleeps at night
as if this is her god given right.
For a spot on the bed I must fight
Each and every single night

Long ears of velvet, a knot on her head
Short little legs, she’s purely bred
Stubborn, defiant a hunter she be
That’s why I am Basset Mommy

Yo WolfsMate,

This is way cool work.  It's very cleverly written.  I like it.

Oh, how adorable!  I am a tabby cat mommy and a Maltese poodle mommy and a horse mommy (though my darling horse has been in Heaven for 6 years on 28 April 2008) so I understand exactly what you are saying.

Of course it is her God-given right to sleep on the bed!  It is very kind of her to let you share a little bit of it too!  Smiles.

Please give her lots and lots of belly rubs and kisses from Auntie-Di (Owl).  What is her name?

What beautiful names - I mean the Cleo part of the first one, but yes, I can understand that a lovable little angel like her would prefer Puppy or Princess.

Sweet tribute to a well loved pet. Mine is a 105 lb. almost 2 year old lab/golden retriever. He is completely black except for a very small white spot on hisleft ear. His name is Bandit but he goes by Mookie or Buddy more often. He gets up on the bed at night but there is no room left for me so he gets the boot....well he leaves once I have settled in. He sleeps the night on the floor at the foot of my bed.

A precious pet poem! I understand the love and companionship that your 'puppy' provides to you.

I am mommy to a precious bundle of joy, as well. My little kitty's is such a sweetie pie and her name is "Angel". Go figure! lol

I very much enjoyed this!

(one's for your precious pooch!)
