he gave you windows there
for your bare shoulders to wear
on some summer morning fridays

you bought the shoes to match
just high enough to make you taller
than modesty could offer edge to

and then there were tiptoes too
and your eyes looking for shadows
that might bring you some laughter

in the hard skin of a man's hand
and some sigh song music also
heartbeat easy for slow dancing

when your jade needed want to polish
