The Love I have for you has no limits My feelings know no bounds I treasure every minute That I have you around Because your childhood won't last forever And the years will soon have flown I want to make the most of our time together Before you are full grown But no matter how old you may get As you make your own way in the world I hope that you never forget You'll always be Daddy's Little Girl.... |

As a Daddy's girl of yesteryear I enjoyed the sentiment in this sweet poem. Joyce |

Yesteryear Joyce? Surely not, you write with such youthful exhuberance ! Thanks for taking the time to read & reply on my piece. It was written for my now 11 year old only child. She arrived unexpectedly after 18 years of marriage and having totally given up on having offspring I am so happy with the way She is turning out. She is a very well balanced, intelligent & happy child......obviously got none of my traits then ! Thanks again, John |

Enjoy while you can. They grow up too fast. But an adult relationship with a loved child is also something to be cherished. I ws perplexed about your pen name until I sounded it out. Is John your middle name? Joyce |

Joyce, you are a canny Lady ! Yes, John is my middle name. The pen name is derived from the phonetic alphabet for my full name F J L, now your next mission should you choose etc, etc is go figure my 1st one! (I would put a smiley in here now but have not worked it out yet...Daughter, Help!!) JW, They are priceless aren't they? My Old Mum used to say to us, " You've none to make you laugh but none to make you cry" While there is a lot of truth in that & I can understand where she was coming from, I wholeheartedly agree with your comment. The heartaches that I'm sure will come in due course could NEVER outweigh the joy she brings to me on a daily basis. I'm not trying to say I love Her more than the next Father but I think a lot of the problems with the kids of today is that they tend to be talked at instead of talked to. Never a day goe's by that I do not tell Rhiannon I love Her and apart from a couple of recent spells in hospital, I always tuck Her in at night (whether I want to or not !!) Your comments are much appreciated, Thanks... |

Thanks Tom, I have a brother in Long Beach & when my Angel spreads Her wings She has said She wants to be a vetinary surgeon in LA ( quite apt to want to go to the city of angels!)So I told Her to buy a pink pick up truck and cruise PCH to see if She can catch your eye and trigger another of your witty ditties.....Thanks again my friend... |

John, there would be more happy and well-adjusted women in the world today if their fathers had made them feel special and that they were their "Daddy's Girl". Not all father's are able to write their feelings down as poetically as you have done. Your daughter is fortunate to have a daddy who not only loves her but is able to write the words down. What a wonderful reminder (and keepsake!) for her throughout her life! ![]() Love to you and your daughter, Linda ![]() ![]() |

Paul, You are welcome... I am so glad you called Her, if my poem was the catalyst for that, then that brings me more joy than penning it...Take care my friend & make a note to call your daughter again soon.... Cheers John |

Hello effjayel...John? I have two sons, one with the middle name, Jay. Two gorgeous grandgirls, the first with the middle name, Michelle (after my only daughter who died when she was 8). You made me think of her. Thanks ! Also for the reply to my poem, Forever February. |
