.

The town
As it always was
Farms and some
Long fields already
Harvested in the valley

Beyond the
Lower mountains
Meeting blue
With blue as usual
At the horizon
The western sea

The grass grows high
All the trees again
Are deeply green
Yes it’s been awhile
Since I’ve been down
For anything social

And I’m sorry
But actually here above
Alone on the periphery
Of other peoples’ lives
There isn’t all that much
To say

.

Your poems have been deep and reflective lately. John. I have always enjoyed your writing but lately I feel that it has taken on a new and greater dimension.

Sometimes when in deep contemplation, it is best that much isn't said, except for the calming voice of the heart.

This poem touches me in a special way, and takes me to another place.

Thanks,

Art

Again, beautiful - and ditto to what Ida said.
