Perfection Perfection seems to be the latest trend. A quest that some will follow to no end. We paint our nails we cut and dye our hair; Fill closets up with clothes we’ll never wear. Some spend their waking hours at the gym, To make less perfect bodies tone and trim, While others opt for plastic surgery - A nip a tuck - new looks come easily. Cosmetics line the shelves of every store. We own them all but, yet, we’ll buy some more And hope they’ll do all that they promise to. But as for beauty, we don’t have a clue. Perfection is not found in fairest face or flawless skin But rather in true beauty radiating from within. I am nothing special...and my name will soon be forgotten,but I've loved another with all my heart and soul,and to me,this has always been enough.~N.S |

I could not agree with you more! Well-stated! Our society, generally speaking, espouses millimeter perfection resulting in eating disorders, inferiority complexes, depression among our young people ~ and older! If more time was spent on developing their insides instead of their outsides, the would be more productive and happier! Beauty truly does come within! That may be trite, but is true!
