At once
I kissed her with my gaze
as her existence fell,
first
upon my eyes

Then, as the tips
of our souls
searched for secrets
in our mouths
that our eyes,

couldn’t keep,

the sky tore,

and blistered us.

Tasting for answers
unsaid
within my heart
and hers,
time took pause
for stars to meld,

as future stood by,
behind closed doors

and shadows of tomorrow
laid rest,

somewhere,
in-between.

On my knees
and in between
the confluence of flush
and,
silken dreams
I succumb

to moons of liquid pearls
where daylight ends,
and,
nightfall,

just begins.

My breath laid softly
upon portal’s essence,
and,

the genesis
of legacy

caressed by
satiny wings
as I delved within
the midst

of treasured secrets,

and,

fell into
the velvet sheath
of

unwritten promises,

as our lips
said goodnight
wet with rain,

we once held

our tongues
then again,

wrote the songs
and,

the poems,
of souls
