I listen to the weeping minutes
until the sound fills the tunnel
and covers the negligent dust
then blows out the litter of minutes dread
that fills you with time
whatever that is

Be here with me in only now
and now again and again
until the path is just one place
and your footprints write themselves so deeply
that roots of trees embrace the knees

I want to hold the flight of wings
lace the sky with some invisible string
and drink your smile
with no thought of what will come
when day and night and day are done
because there is no place where you are not
------

"And death shall have no dominion.
No more may gulls cry at their ears
Or waves break loud on the seashores;
Where blew a flower may a flower no more
Lift its head to the blows of the rain;
Though they be mad and dead as nails,
Heads of the characters hammer through daisies;
Break in the sun till the sun breaks down,
And death shall have no dominion."

Exceptional write, dear Martie! You rendered your longing for the perception of oneness in a wonderful way. You speak the truth, but sometimes we only get glimpses of the truth that there is no death, only transformation ...

Love this much.

Love,
Margherita

Dear Martie, the warmth of your words are like sweaters around the heart. Bless you and your loved one, Patti.

“I want to hold the flight of wings
lace the sky with some invisible string
and drink your smile
with no thought of what will come
when day and night and day are done
because there is no place where you are not”

Absolutely beautiful.

I love your new picture Martie.

Marti, not only would I like to quote the passages that Margherita and Richy quoted, I would also like to add to those, the first and last stanzas, as well!

You haven't lost your poetic touch, sweet poetess!

Loving hug,
Linda

Your words are always such a treasure to read Martie. I love your phrasing. Your words have a way of not only taking me into your thoughts ... but living them "with" you ....

"and drink your smile
with no thought of what will come
when day and night and day are done"

Just lovely. Much enjoyed this.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

How beautiful your every word!  Though so sad, the joy of the conquest over death, bursts forth from your pen and your exquisite spirit.
