When Night Arrives We whispered of a special love and sighed, As if to speak aloud would break the spell. We whispered of our years of pain and cried, As tears of sweet relief from bondage fell. We fondly spoke of tender moments past, And swore to honor, treasure, and respect, These memories we hold secure and fast, That soothe us as we wonder and reflect. We shared our secret hopes and deepest thoughts, And leaned upon the strength of common care. Amazed at what concern had richly wrought, And intimate beyond whate’er we dared.
