Steps

Steps I take
Start my path while the,

Steps I make
Bring me closer to the,

Steps that fake
The pace of a man whose,

Steps can break
This endless cycle; but all I have are,

Steps that ache
With paid for pain of a thousand miles while,

Steps that shake
Like Gods’ own tread split my world till,

Steps I take
Start it over again.

I'm up late and can't sleep. I have no idea if this makes sense. I'm sure I'll read this tomorrow and wonder what i was thinking. But thanks for taking the time to read my late night ramblings

Sometimes it seems as if we are on an endless treadmill...change isn't ever easy, nor the lessons that we learn that are worthwhile. I enjoyed this honest glimpse into your thoughts.

Some of our late night ramblings can be the most interesting!

Your poem reminded me of times when I have felt like a hamster in a cage, furiously running nowhere fast on a tread wheel.

Sleep well this night! ~ but if sleep eludes you, remember that you are just a pen stroke away from writing your next perplexing poem! lol
